The story of Native Deen is an inspiring one that began with three Muslim youth possessing unique talents and a passion to spread the uplifting message of Islam. Originally solo artists and active participants of their communities searching for creative ways to educate and   inspire Muslim youth, today Native Deen has become a fusion of  Hip-hop and R&B flavors, thrilling fans with their eclectic and unique combinations of lyrics, rhythms and sounds.The trio made up of Joshua Salaam, Abdul-Malik Ahmad and Naeem Muhammad came together in 2000 and has embarked upon aprofessional career in the music industry together in order to highlight issues confronting Muslims living in America.The group has played to rave reviews throughout North America as well as Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.Together, they have played some of the world’s most distinguished auditoriums and performed alongside artists such as Yusuf Islam (formerly Cat Stevens), Sami Yusuf, Zain Bhika, Raihan, Dawud Wharnsby, Seven8Six, Outlandish and much more.

Native Deen has performed in over 60 cities around the world inspiring Muslims and non-Muslims alike and are ranked as one of the Top Five bands in its genre on MySpace..Native Deen’s music has provided a cultural bridge by presenting Islam in a positive light to Western audiences and promoting tolerance in Muslim countries by demonstrating that there are devout, practicing Muslims in Western countries. In 2006 the group won the  Mahabba Award in Dubai at an Artists’ event Showcasing musicians, artists and filmmakers inspired to spread Islam through their art. Now with their second album out, the trio has reached a new height in their career.

About Kina Grannis:

Born and raised in Mission Viejo, CA, Kina Grannis started playing shows at the age of four in front of stuffed animals. Now she plays in front of people. For those who knew Kina as the shy and self-proclaimed-awkward songstress who escaped into the collegiate stairwells to practice and play in privacy, the idea of playing in front in inanimate objects might actually seem fitting. But between those who travel across state and country lines to her sold out live shows and those navigating through her extensive library of YouTube videos, it’s quite clear that Kina is hardly playing for no one.

Since the original release of Stairwells, Kina continued to super-serve her ever-loyal following. She spent much of 2010 on the road, headlining venues across North America, performing sold out shows at Los Angeles’ Troubadour and El Rey Theater and New York City’s Highline Ballroom, spending hours after each and every show signing autographs for, taking pictures with and talking to anyone in attendance. On April 5^th, 2011 Kina released a remixed and remastered version of Stairwells, this time in stores and internationally. The Greg Jardin-directed stop-motion clip features 288,000 Jelly Belly jellybeans – and 1 Kina Grannis – captured with 1 still camera over 2,460 frames. To call the video a success would be an understatement, as “In Your Arms” has arguably become the artist’s most polarizing achievement, a lofty claim for someone whose first music video found airtime during Super Bowl XLII. Accruing more than 3.5 million YouTube views in just over 3 weeks, “In Your Arms” earned Kina and interview and performance on the aforementioned Ellen Degeneres show, an iTunes Music Video of The Week and features on The Today Show, Good Morning America, Billboard, Mashable, Entertainment Weekly, E! News, CNN’s Showbiz Insider, Inside Edition, The Huffington Post, Yahoo!, and MTV, among dozens of other television, internet and video outlets. Consequently, the track rocketed to #1 on iTunes Singer Songwriter Chart, while Stairwells reached #2 on the same chart and reappeared on Billboard’s New Artist/Heatseekers Chart, ascending as high as #4 overall.

Westports Malaysia Dragons is the first team to represent Malaysia in the AirAsia ASEAN Basketball League (ABL), which would be running from the month of October till February every year. The AirAsia ASEAN Basketball League is fully endorsed by the South East Asia Basketball Association (SEABA) and International Basketball Federation (FIBA) Asia.

Westports Malaysia Dragons’ long-term vision is to create regional platform of high performance sports and as a self-sustaining professional team in Malaysia. In order to achieve such a feat,Westports Malaysia Dragons will be investing into facilities, infrastructure and players development to build and create an entertainment entity around basketball to be the second most popular sport in Malaysia next to football.
Quoting from Dato’ Wira Dani Daim, who envisions a future for youths picking up basketball as a profession, “We will be creating another avenue for kids to participate in a healthy lifestyle and sports by giving them a target and show should they strive to rise to the top, they can eventually play the game they love as professional players”.

Westports Malaysia Dragons would be organizing an Under-14 and Under-17 league with the objective of nurturing the youth in basketball, developing them into professional players. With teams from 5 other different countries such as Brunei, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand and Philippines, Westports Malaysia Dragons sees this as a good opportunity to bring international experience in developing the youth of Kuala Lumpur and also Malaysia.
