A glimpse into the annals of rock music history will be landing in Kuala Lumpur this coming May 28th 2010 as OMP Entertainment brings you a very special treat which comes in the form of the world’s most acclaimed Beatles tribute band – The Mersey Beatles.
The Mersey Beatles have previously made an appearance in Kuala Lumpur performing for a charity event at a prominent hotel and at the Hard Rock Café’s 15th Year Anniversary event held in 2006.
The Mersey Beatles are the official Beatles tribute band for Cavern City Tours, owners of the world famous Cavern Club where the original Beatles made its name back in late 1950’s Liverpool.
Using authentic instruments; Hofner, Rickenbacker and Gretch guitars, Ludwig drums and Vox amplification and authentic Beatlemania costumes, The Mersey Beatles performance is a note perfect recreation of the sound of The Fab Four from 1962 to 1970. In modern times, The Mersey Beatles in concert are the closest thing you can get to the stage presence, excitement and sheer fun generated by the legendary Beatles during their prime at the height of the birth Rock music in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s.
This prestigious event will be held at the Sime Darby Convention Center, the official venue for the Mersey Beatles’ Malaysian concert. They will be performing songs from each and every Beatles era accompanied with themed wardrobe costumes and props accordingly. This is set to be one of the most talked about events for 2010 and not to be missed by all ages and generations of whom The Beatles music still resonates to up to this very day
The sound is the most important thing & u-tube is not enough to do the Mersey Beatles justice. At the Cavern they’re very relaxed. They just rock out in the waist coats. In KL they will perform the full theatrical show with grey, shea, pepper & later years suits. They were not chosen by some P.R. company they’re just four friends who LOVE The Beatles & decided to put a tribute together. They may not look so much like the originals (although in full costume they create a fair illusion) but close your eyes when you go to the show & you’ll be amazed at the sound.
There is one so obviously different about this band from the original. The “Paul McCartney” in this band is not a left-handed!
