Showdown of Champions 2009 Kuala Lumpur Glam Slam

World no 5 Elena Dementiva will join forces with her fellow Russian, Maria Kirilenko, to take on two of Asia’s biggest sporting icons – Zheng Jie of China and India’s Sania Mirza. Elena is the 2008 Olympic Games gold medallist who enjoys a good record in Asia while Maria, the world No 61, is one of the most attractive and sexiest tennis stars on the planet. Sania, blessed with Bollywood looks and one of the most recognized personalities in India, is regarded with a passion usually reserved for movie stars and the country’s cricket team. She is currently ranked 58th in the world. Zheng Jie, ranked 35th in the world, has the distinction of becoming the first Chinese player ever to reach the semifinals of a Grand Slam singles tournament in Wimbledon in 2008 and only the second time a wild-card player has reached the women’s semifinals in the Open era.
